This was our 8th trip to Coz and this time we stayed at the Wyndham Aura towards the south end of the island. In March and August of 2009 we stayed at the Occidental Grand.

I used Aldora Divers this trip. I've used them on 3 other trips and have scheduled a trip for May 8-24,2011 to dive with them.

Here is a brief list of dives

A dive summary for the week

12-23-10 Day 1 - Maricabo start 9:00 , end 10:00 , 112 feet for 58 minutes
Pasa Tortugas start 12:17 , end 1:17 , 69 feet for 59 minutes

12-24-10 Day 2 - Punta Sur Sur start 8:30 end 9:27 , 96 feet , 47 minutes

12-26-10 Day 4 Dos Ojos Cenote 1 start 12:07 end 1:02 , 48 minutes , max 28 feet
Dos Ojos Cenote 2 start 1:43 , end 2:36 , 43 minutes , max 33 feet

Pasa Cedral 55 feet max 1:02 start 2:28 finish 81 minutes

Aldora advertises "guaranteed diving" and lived up to that during the challenging conditions this week. On the 26th the port was closed and all 20 divers scheduled to dive that day were in the water. Ten of us went the mainland to dive Cenote and the other 10 went to the windward side to dive there.

As always, dive staff was terrific. Due to steel 120's and long bottom times, we did 2 hour surface intervals at Mr. Sanchoz.

Highlight of trip was seeing a huge hammerhead shark ( yes, a hammerhead ) during our safety stop my last day of diving. I estimated at 8.5 to 9 feet long. I had been trying to tell folks the water temp was COLD... this proved it !

My watch registered 81 degrees, my body disagreed ! I wore a full 3 mil and due to long BT I was getting chilly at the end of every dive. I'm thinking my wrist may have boosted the reading on my watch, 78 degrees sounds a little closer.:shakehead
