Well I am confirmed to my flight Friday. You won't see me at any beaches, at best I might be at local restaurants in Tulum. Otherwise it will be at cenotes one and one with my guide.

Have you heard anything about the cenotes being closed?

No but my understanding is that most cenotes are privately owned.

That doesn't relate to diving in cenotes - it's talking about public events or gathering type things which have been closed until we are in green - that's my take on it.

I could have swore I heard someone say they went over to dive there and we'd have heard about it I'd think but who the heck knows with this place. Now I'm hearing the port captain has raised the boats to 50% occupancy verses what the governor and mayor say at 30% - it's great for the boats and everyone but can we get the story straight please!

When I checked in June, some cenotes were closed, and this would have affected my cave diving trip had I not cancelled. I don't know about now, but I would expect some closures. They are popular places.

It would be interesting to know if the ones that remain open are seeing crowds or, if they limit capacity, forcing divers to take a place in line. Had the rest of us not postponed our plans for the year, that would likely be the case.

There was almost zero cenote traffic in mid June. When we dove Angelita and Dreamgate on June 15th, the owners of both places told us we were the first ones to dive there since the end of March.

Last night the governor announced that the southern part of the state is going back to red, Balacar was at 67% and Chetumal at 76% hospital occupancy - Chetumal had been seeing large increases daily.

Also seen a Facebook post of an overcrowded ferry boat in the last few days, all seats full and people literally sitting on the floor - if you are coming thru Cancún , stat up to date on ferry schedules on the Winjet and Ultramar Facebook pages, I can’t see them letting that go on much longer.

I was at the marina yesterday and there is a good amount of traffic out of there right now, even getting hounded for the free parking downtown. Parking - supposedly they are going to start enforcing parking rules downtown, it’s not been enforced at all since this shutdown but there’s a lot more traffic now.
