I started Fundies before covid, but in the total lockdown of the first wave I had to make a 3 month pause and got my booked Egypt liveboard cancelled in May.
So, when the lockdown was over I finished Fundies and completed Rescue and had two trip to the Mediterranean Sea (Croatia), did quite a few dives at Slovakia at random lakes, got OWD certified my sister and booked another Egypt tour to end of October.
After the summer I did Equipment specialist, and started my tec course at Molnar Janos Cave, Hungary (one of Europe biggest cave-system and it’s warm, 20-28 Celsius.)

Now in the second lockdown I got my Egypt tour cancelled (again...) and one to Croatia too, the cave closed down 2 days ago with all the other opportunities, but they also operate a diving site at Kobanya Mine (a former mine in the middle of the city Budapest, later used as factory for storing beer, but got too much water, so there is now a quite good depth, around ~40m), so I will continue my tec courses there and also refresh my drysuit knowledge. :)

So yeah, I got f*cked in term of diving, but I grab any opportunities and will be on the first plane to Egypt if there will be a vaccine or this virus get sorted in any other ways... :)

Our trip to God's Pocket was postponed until hopefully next March. Other than that, nothing has changed. We're fortunate to have a boat and nice diving nearby.

Had a trip in Feb 2020 to Fiji just before the lockdown, that was fortunate timing.
Had trips canceled to
- Florida
- Roatan
- Caymans
All very disappointing. Hoping to get some travel diving in Florida in December.

Fortunately I have a friend with a boat and managed to dive 3 weekends a month in the Great Lakes this summer in July and August and a few weekends at a quarry but the dive count is very low this year. Hopeful that 2021 might allow for some additional travel.

Moved to Colorado beginning of the year, not much diving here. All planned scuba trips were cancelled or postponed until next year. Still waiting to get my passport back from renewing it. Frustrated because all my family holiday plans have fallen apart, which normally equates to a christmas or thanksgiving scuba trip, but not this year.

LA County Instructor Course -> postponed tell Jan 2021??? (3/4 of it done)
Adv Wreck & AN/DP -> postponed tell April 2021
ITT -> Completed San Carlos, MX
Operation Escape US Election News -> Successful (with some weather impact) Nov 2020

Otherwise just more local diving, which is fine with me. I love California diving so doing more of it isn't much of a problem.

Covidiocy 2020 has been a game of give and take.

I dive commercially for laboratories; and many of the city labs, in California and elsewhere, involved in dredging, water treatment, bioassays etc. have furloughed any number of their scientists; so I have a bit more spare time on hand; though it is slowly picking up.

A number of colleagues are in the same boat; so I have been servicing their sundry equipment, while in sweats and about a week's worth of beard growth, much to my girlfriend's chagrin; and found a book, while on a walk, a few months back, on making ebelskivers, at a neighborhood "free" library (and left them, in turn, a dog-eared copy of Machiavelli); so there has been no shortage of little round Danish pancakes, in the house . . .

Absolutely no changes here. Been diving solo cave diving without any restrictions all the way thru this pandemic. I even have a 7 foot hose just to maintain social distancing. Lol

If I can donate you are too close!

Well I guess you have a foot of latitude but I like my version better lol

Almost no impact to my diving. The local diving in Sydney is awesome and I had no dive trips planned, so nothing to get cancelled.

Probably the biggest impact was over Easter when the national park I dive in was closed (due to Covid) and I had to walk in from outside the park to get my dives in.

I have dived every weekend this year and have over 100 dives for the year so far.
