I have an overbite (buck teeth if you want to call it that). I find all of the mouthpieces that have short bite pieces, like the comfobite, take way to much effort to keep in place and sealed. I use the longer ones from stock Dive Rite regulators and they seem to be the best for me for any OC. I still use a moldable seacure on my rebreather, since that will never need to be donated, and it is definitely my overall preference. The seacure takes zero effort to keep place and I can really relax my jaw without it falling out or letting water in.

I've tried a lot of different ones over the years. I have a small mouth, so most are too big. I've tried the moldable, kids sizes, the one with the tongue brace, etc. I end up biting through all eventually and when diving a lot am replacing it every month or so. Finally found one that is comfortable, fits, and I don't bite through..

I have the clear version. It's lasted over 100 dives and no show of wear and tear, erh, bite.

I recently was doing some anchor work and I took my backup regulator without the comfobite... I had to really clamp down to keep it from coming out while I worked. Never again. Comfobite now on both regulators.

I'v been diving with just the generic mouthpiece that comes with my regulator, but I had a fairly intensive dive weekend and I wound up with a weird blister on my gums. I had no idea that was even possible and never had it happen before, but here we are. Also, I'm not really sure if it came from the mouthpiece but it's the only explanation I've got. So I've got another intensive dive weekend coming up and I want to switch out.

What's your favorite?

From what I gather mouthpieces breakdown into...

1. Moldable.
2. The type with ridge in the roof of your mouth.
3. Bigger cushier ones
4. basic
5. or maybe you don't care and whatever delivers air is fine.
put a swivel on the reg for comfort

Mares LiquidSkin. They are discontinued but oh so great. I would love to buy any quantity of them if some shop out there still has one sitting on the shelf

I have a pretty small mouth, and what's worked the best for me is the small size Comfobite that tends to come on the women's regulators. Not sure why a regulator would be different for men and women, but whatever. Hundreds of dives later, I've never had to replace one and never get jaw fatigue.
