I think if they wont except your test, you can test over there and get results really quick. But that is just in a emergency!

I would not count on this. It is not part of any of their published procedures.

Does anyone know what happens if you don't have your PCR test results back prior to arrival at the Bonaire Airport? With the new requirement of having the test done within 48 hours of your arrival, and many test centers saying it might take up to 72 hours, it could create such a situation.

Thanks.

Im here now, and one member of our group apparently gambled on her having negative results back by the time we landed. Ugh. The authorities pulled her aside and administered a rapid PCR for $125. She joined up with us 20 minutes later.

Dep. on where one is in these United States, this may actually save one $25 and a trip to the testing place...

Assuming it’s negative. What about a positive?

You've already booked the place and paid for the tickets; if it comes up positive before you get on the plane you're only slightly less screwed than if it comes positive after you get off. If you want to get really screwed: test positive before your flight back.

Thanks. Good info.

Lorenzoid, that suggests that your (her) results were not checked before boarding the flight for Bonaire?

Curious about that as well. We are coming down in a couple of weeks and the 48h pre-departure test window paired with a local shortage of ID NOW tests is making things interesting - especially as we will have an overnight layover in MIA to contend with. They will let you board the plane with a pending test result?

Delta did not check our test results in Atlanta at check-in/boarding. The agent said “it depends on what country is your destination.” Apparently, for Bonaire the Delta check-in agents were not required to look at test results.

At Bonaire, the Immigration people were quite thorough. They really did look at our printed PCR test results, vaccination cards, and our Health Declarations. Not a rubber stamp—they really seemed to look. Probably the name, date, type of test (needs to be NAAT) and result.

This was different from my Europe trip in July. The Delta check-in agent in Atlanta did look at our vaccination cards.
