Cruise people don't generally shop in the grocery stores, nor do they eat in the restaurants that much. The average cruiser is on the island for 6.5 hours and spends $85, mostly on excursions, T shirts, and trinkets. What decimates the store shelves are when a big KLM or TUI airliner full of people show up and they're all stocking up on their first week's worth of groceries for their holiday rentals. Our last visit, so many cruise ships that the grocery shelves were bare. Fewer and smaller sounds great. The USVI is pretty well rebuilt, so maybe they can get back to disrupting the F’sted pier.
