I talked with one of my Orthopedic friends on thursday and she said it is really only good for about a six month relief for people with extreme degeneration and it is used as a means of putting off surgical intervention. When I was talking with her I couldn't remember the drug name but she spit it right out and said it was more common in the mid 80's and they call it the "chicken fat" injection.

She said exercise, biofreeze and an antinflamatory/ analgesic. Oh fyi Vioxx has been recalled so if you are on that talk with your physician.

Ya i just threw away all the samples they gave me of vioxx.

I'll get the cortison shot, so hopefully that will make me feel a little better along with the exercise and other things I am trying. The doc I have is great. I think he is the orthopdeic doc for the Orlando Magic.

I have decided against the shots of cortisone, too many people were telling me not to.

And I read this website and it helped me understand what was going on with my knee a little.

So I thought i'd share it with you guys too.
