I have two regs. One is a Conshelf Supreme (1st stage, 2nd Stage, and pressure/depth gauge) and the other is a Conshelf XII (1st, 2nd, and Pressure/Depth Gauge) . Anyone know where I can get service kits and the manual for them?

Or before I break them down to play with, Im going to stick them on the swap and sell forum if anyone is intrested for $50 a set plus shipping.

The service kits for the Conshelf regulators are the same ones as for the Aqua Lung Titan. I have 3 Conshelf XIs and a Conshelf XII. The Titan parts are identical to the Conshelf parts and work perfectly.

Speaking of old US Divers regulators, wasn't there one particular model back in the early 80s that had a tendency to shut off the air supply when it failed? I'd really like to know which one that was so I don't inadvertantly buy one.

Any upstream, diaphragm regulator can do that if the diaphragm ruptures or the adjustment spring fails. Not a likely event in a well-maintained regulator, but it is within the realm of possibility.

With a diaphram rupture I would think it would still be possible to get some air using the purge button. It might be a little wet, but...

I'm not sure what you mean by "spring fails." Are you talking about first or second stage?

The particular US Divers regulator I asked about was much talked-about at dive shops at the time. I'm not certain but I think it had a first-stage problem where, under certain circumstances, the piston would suddenly close completely and shut off all air supply. I would have thought it would be up there with the "Bend-O-Matic" as far as old equipment to avoid ;) Maybe this is the spring failure you mentioned.

The conshelf series were not exactly "top performers" by today's standards, but were great mid line regs and good in rental. Field repairs/adjustments were easy.

I was talking about the first stage of an upstream, diaphragm reg. If either the diaphragm or the adjustment spring should fail, the reg will shut off air flow. This is unlikely in a well-maintained reg, but it is possible.

As for the reg that fails shut, you might be thinking about the Calypso. There is a thread on on the other forum where there was a discussion of a recall because the HP seat could become disloged and cause it to fail shut.
