Does anyone have a source for Conshelf XIV parts?

Aqualung.... (j/k) :)

It is sad that that is a joke.

conshelf 14 is a really old unit (I have 2 LOL) Aqualung will not carry parts for any reg that is more than about 2 years old, so that route for parts is a joke...

On the upside, all the o-rings are standard sizes, as is the exhaust poppet in the 2nd stage and the diaphram, so all you really need is the seats, which can be manufactured by cutting down larger seats out of a newer reg.

disclamer:
I do NOT suggest doing this, it should only be attempted by a very skilled person who is VERY familiar with regulator rebuilding.

Actually, no, that is not why it is a joke(at least to me). The parts for the XIV series are available.....but only to certified techinicians. Since Aqualung won't offer me a certification class(I am not associated with a dealer), I cannot obtain the parts to maintain a set of regulators that most(as far as I tell, all) of the shops in my state don't support.

Do you rebuild the air bags or the fuel injection system of your automobile? Same thing.

There must be some nearby LSD that can service them. If not, there are many LSD's that take items for service via mail or FedEx. Although I live in IL, my Conshelfs are serviced in FL at Force-E.

Personally, I do not have air Bags. I have rebuilt the fuel injection in my porsche. AND NO ONE WORKS ON ANY CRITICAL LIFE SUPPORT SYSTEM OF MINE BUT ME! It's a thing, but I know how to do it, and I don't want to die blaming someone else. I also do my own brake jobs.

So did I, until I found I didn't have the time to do everything myself. I trust this type of work to the professionals. They have the tools and the training that I do not have. They also do it regularly, not just once a year.

I do not intend to die while diving, regardless of who is to blame.

Good luck!
