Props to Deep Sea Supply on earning a Testers' Choice award in the July issue of Scuba Diving magazine :wave-smil .

Very nice write-up in the review. Granted, not a comprehensive evaluation of all BP/W manufacturers, but a testament to the good work Tobin is doing.

Keep it up - I can't wait to put some serious diving on my new rig :snorkels:

Congrats on the top rating. I wish I had ordered my set up before the issue came out as now I have to wonder when the prices will be going up. J/King

Once again congrats

Just returned to the island and found the issue waiting in my mailbox. Congrats, Tobin. I gave your plate a "tester's choice" well before SCUBA Diving did! Keep up the great work and don't forget all us little people when you guys hit the big time!

Thanks for all the kind words.

Submitting goods for a magazine test is a nerve racking experience for a manufacturer.

I must say that the staff at Scuba Lab is hands down the most professional I've encountered.

They do an excellent job of research and "fact checking", and have the necessary depth of expertise required for the work they do.

Tobin

Tobin, I came to this board to find out some info about your small wing. I have an OMS BP with a 45 pound wing, and was looking to replace it with a smaller one. Your site says the 30pound wing attaches with "buttons", but you don't show a good pic of this, or explain setup. Also, as my BP is a couple years old, it requires a STA. Is your small wing adaptable for this?

Hi Randy

The attachment "buttons" we use are removable. This leaves you with the holes you need to secure a STA.

I also read the test review. It is a really pleasure we can talk with the manufacture people at this board. Have you known any real reason why Halcyon was out of their test list? I know that ScubaPro refused to send the regulators for the test though. It is a very disappointing... Is there something they are afraid of for the public test?

This is pure speculation on my part...... Scuba Lab made a request for "Recreational" Backplate and Wings. Some brands might have declined to participate based on this alone.
