Looks to be blue skies and some clouds with a light/moderate wind from the south. Seas are pretty flat outside our hotel. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1365940667.814744.jpg

Diving this morning with Aldora.

I tried to ID the location. I see what looks like ironshore, some sand, lots of palapas, a possible lifeguard tower and something tan that looks like dry grass in winter. I do not recognize it.

Looking at it again, the ironshore may be at water level. So at this point I would have in the mix Iberostar, Sabor and Presidente. What looks like grass may be the key and Presidente may be the right answer. I know how to find out but that would be cheating.

If I could find a semi-current picture from the ocean of Presidente, that could answer it as well.

Iberostar may have more trees on the beach so that lowers its chances.

CVChief is probably right.

Actually I cheated. He is on the April list. :)

Yes, Presidente. I was so impressed with your deductive skills, too. I guess it's still deduction...

Dives:

Palancar Gardens into Delila
Didn't bring the camera today so I could concentrate on acclimating with less task loading, which might be why the 1st dive wasn't full of the usual first dive jitters and fubaring.

Dove with Edgar (Aldora). Happy to find the exact same couple in the boat from Toronto we had the last time we were here. Nice!

Did a few swim-throughs and boy does PPB and more diving make a difference.

One barracuda, a good sized Nassau grouper and according to my dive buddy Heather "the biggest turtle I've ever seen" which is impressive because we've seen some big turtles.

Moderate current, 73 mins, 83 feet max (not for very long) on 32% Nitrox.

Yucab Wall into Tormentos
Holy Jesus son of Mary. Fastest current by (guesstimating) 2X I've ever been in. I'm a decent swimmer and I couldn't stay still, no less make progress against it. Edgar planned on running us along the top of the wall but once we were in we didn't go near that.

Did I mention how fast the current was? Great Buddha it was fast. Super fast. Ridonculously fast. It was far more a ride than a dive. Steven (Canadian dude) has a GoPro I will see if he got any good footage.

Wildlife? Yeah, not so much that we saw or maybe that I recall. One large sea horse with the most muscular tail of the entire sea horse kingdom (what with the current, see? Have I mentioned how fast it was?)

Wicked ripper of a current, 55 mins, 63 feet max, on 32% Nitrox.

I like having a ripping current every now and then...! Until you run out of reef lol. Thanks for sharing!
