Pebble Beach on Saturday:
15-20 vis
Slight Surge
60-65 temps

Did two nice dives there. The place was pretty quiet when we got there around 3:30. There was only one other flag way out to the left in the rocky cove. After our second dive one other group showed up......

I'll post todays (sunday) report this afternoon....

Gotta go pack up the gear!

Stew and I did two tanks at STB this morning. Beautiful day, sunny, warm water, 65+ surface temp, max depth only 18 feet, viz was okay around 12-15 feet at best. There are some huge bugs out there, but mostly berried females. Also, flounder, rays, stripers, etc. Got there early enough to avoid the $10 parking fee which is always a plus. Saw some wreckage which could have been the old WWII tug that sank just off the beach. Another dive club(there was a big pinic there last Sunday) seemed to be having their outing on the portion of the beach directly in front of the restroom bldg.

Did Beavertail Point, Parking Lot 4 in Jamestown RI today.

Great dive site if you haven't been there. Lots of big rocks, canyons, and some big old ship anchors left behind out there.

Very nice conditions. 15+ ft vis. Water was about 64 degrees F at 50 fsw.

We got the dive in just in time because the wind really picked up after we finished.

Did pebble again today....got a couple bugs.

Vis was about 15, temps 59, there was a decent surge going on which had a lot of stuff moving in the water column.

Firt dive went out to the pile of rocks on the right end of the beach (the ones you see at low tide). Started getting beat up by the current so headed back towards the east.

Second dive went straight out to the second rock reef section. Nice spot, lots of bigger boulders and more bugs out there. Vis was a little better here as well and less surge.

Hope to sneak one in this week.

I'd almost kill for 64 degrees at 50 fsw!

Up here it's more like 50 degrees at 64 fsw.

Um... if it makes you feel any better I haven't seen any stray tropical fish around here yet this summer. :eyebrow:

hmmm.. But I've only seen one lobster with "lobster leprosy" around here this year. :icorolley

I don't even bother lobstering here. It isn't worth the effort. A lobster dive in RI is defined as diving while carrying an empty sack for no good reason.

That's a bummer. I didn't realize it was that bad. What do the biologists say about it?
