What are the conditions like near you?

Has anyone been in the water today (thursday)? Or is planning a dive tomorrow? I am wondering what the waves, winds, swells are like. Has the hurrincane had any impact on diving conditions? at the beaches? on the open water?

Thanks all!! I just always like hearing the conditions around ma, ri and ct. Helps me plan my dives, so I appreciate the reports.

Any reports on conditions around here?

Steveo,

This morning was nice in Plymouth. Calm seas, a little surge, 64-66, viz on first dive was about 12 feet, a little nicer when the sun was shining. Second dive was a bit cloudly, viz 8-10.

13 keepers, EP boarded the boat at the ramp to check em out. No problemo.

The wind stayed calm all day.

The fish cops seem to be hanging around Plymouth these days. Or was that the harbor master you mentioned before? I have yet to see the EP or any HM this year.

2 weeks ago it was the HM on shore. Last week was the HM by boat. Today the EP.

I wish they'd pay as much attention to the a-hole commercial in the red boat that buzzed us a few times over the last 3 weeks.

Nice take Jack, seems like that new catch bag of yours has a bit of the magic of your last bag... Hold on to this one then, would ya!! Good to see you are doing well, my friend!

cheers,
steveo

Friday at Old Garden (northern exposure) we had slight surge, flat seas, low 60s surface temp, high 50s down to 25' with the cline around 20'. This vis is down a little from 15'-20' earlier in the week to 10-15' or a little worse. All in all the hurricane I don't think impacted us much.

The conditions for Sat.,7 August Boston Harbor: Winds were less than 5kts, seas 1ft., surface visibility unrestricted, viz at depth 12 ft., water temp 48F.

Looking for guests to join us for a fun day of scalloping. I know it seems early for scallops, but the cold water has kept them in. They are big and tasty... Contact me for details.
