Kriterian:
Hose-less Pros:

- Air information (Remaining PSI, remaining bottom time based on consumption, set alarms to alert you when your tank reaches a certain level)

- No need for hosed gauge, unless you want redundancy

Hose-less Con's:

Kriterian:
- Wireless signals may have trouble traveling underwater. This could leave you without some information.
Myth! Wireless signals have no trouble at all traveling the 1 to 2 metres distance under water from the first stage to your wrist. If a signal is not received, it is due to either a low battery or a manufacturing defect that would be addressed by the maker of the unit. This myth needs to be debunked!

Kriterian:
- The transmitter that attaches to the first stage can be hit and broken off, possibly damaging the regulator.
The transmitter is no more at risk than a hose connected to the HP port of the first stage!

Kriterian:
- Conflict with other people diving the same system. I'm sure it's unlikely, but it's kind of scary to think you may receive someone else's air information, or vice versa.
Another myth! The signals are digital and encoded with a serial number.

Kriterian:
Personally, I don't think the pros outweigh the con's, but that's just me. I'd let other users that have extensive hose-less experience chime in before making a decision.

Your not alone in repeating the myths that have been bantered about in the dive industry, and it's not your fault for doing so. Some very knowledgeable divers have been repeating the same things you have, unfortunately their knowledge is in the field of diving and not communications or electronics. Please don’t take my response as a rebuke to you personally, as that is not my intention. The only trouble with hoseless air integrated dive computers in my opinion, is the lack of user replaceable batteries. Other than that, I see no problem with them at all for recreational diving.

I don't mind at all, and didn't take offense. I haven't had any experience with them (like I said), and was just trying to put out hypotheticals. I guess I should have been more clera with my brainstorming and hypotheticals. I'm glad to know they're more reliable than I heard.

And actually, that's not even a problem, at least with the aeris elite. The manual shows you how to replace them and its easy.
