I would reccomend the Oceanic VT3. Air Integrated, Hoseless, Wrist/ or Retractor mountable, and easy to read. It can even read up to three different tansmitters!

The Pro Plus is also a Great console. Very easy to read.

Both have "Air time remaining" readouts, countdown safety stops, and are nitrox ready.

FYI- for whomever doesn't know Aeris and Oceanic are sister companies so their computers are almost identical.

Thanks for all the responses. Many choices out there but based on a comparison of price and features at this point it's either an Aeris XR-2 or a Cressi-sub Archimedes II. They both do air/nitrox, pc download, console w/SPG & compass, user replaceable battery, etc., so it's pretty much whether a quick disconnect is a necessary feature or not (can be added later if needed). Any further opinions?

It isn't a computer anyone has mentioned but I used to have a Suunto Mosquito and I would not recommend one based on my experiences.

My initial computer developed a faulty pressure sensor that started sending me on phantom dives where it would tell me I was at 60ft while standing on dry land. It was replaced under warranty but the replacement also failed after about a year, this time on a dive. I was at 30 ft and it was telling me I was at the surface. Suunto replaced this one as well. The replacement lasted about 2 years until I loaned it to a dive buddy who donated it to Poseidon.

While Suunto was good about replacing it, in my opinion this is an unacceptable failure rate for an important piece of dive gear.

My current computer is an Oceanic VT3 hoseless, which is probably more than you need or want to pay for. Honestly it is way more than I need, but I got it cheap through work and I am gadget freak so I couldn't resist :D. However, while I wouldn't recommend the same model, I will say I've been pretty happy with Oceanic so some of their other less expensive computers are worth investigating.

I like the Cressi. It's an easy to read 2 gas (Nitrox) computer with a gauge mode. I took some two of them down to Bonaire for a Tech class and they worked really well. Plus it's made for Cressi by Seiko, which I think says something about the quality.

Disclaimer, yes we do sell them
