Background: I am IANTD nitrox cert, and quite comfortable using the tables and depth guage and bottom timer for calculating my bottom times etc.
however, I am interested in getting a computer for my casual recreational dives in case the sh*t hits the fan, and i end up over the NDL and require deco, as well as the weeks on holiday where multi-dive days are common.
I am also about to take deco procedures course and was interested in running the computer at the same time to compare the different algorithms, tables/PC generated/dive computer.
Therefore i am looking for a computer which will display:
Current depth
Max depth
Run time
as well as has a decent deco model that is going to get me safely out of the water. I like the idea of deep stops and am somewhat curious after running some simulations in the Suunto DM software as to how Vyper would react to these.
the models i am looking at are:
Suunto Vyper (not vytec, as i would rather set runtimes and alternate tables for serious deco diving/gas switchin)
Uwatec Smart Pro
Uwatec Pro Ultra
