More adventures in diving...

I completed my deep dive specialty a couple of weeks ago and have one more dive left for PPB class to complete 5 specialties and right now I am at 56 dives so far.

Today was the weirdest and funnest day diving ever! My computer registered 6 dives anywhere from few seconds to 12 minutes. All this in about 4 or so hours time with one AL80 tank that ended up at 1200psi at the end.

What kind of dives were these?

Glad you've asked ;)

While I am not logging them in the book as dives they are pool part of the Rescue Diver training. I got my mask flooded a couple of times while practicing as instructor was playing the panicked diver on the surface. Flooded mask was my worst fear until now! For some reason I was just so scared of this event but I am ok now.

To be honest I am tired but it was fun! I can't wait for tomorrow where we have open water part of the rescue class!

Congrats,

Sounds like you're having a dive season similar to my own. I was OW Certified at the end of last year's season and had one trip to the Philippines in Jan of this year.

I started with 16 logged dives and AOW Certified.

Since April of this year I've logged 60 Dives, have 5 Specialties (Nitrox, Equipment, PPB, Deep & Dry Suit) plus I've completed Rescue (EFR also of course). I'm just waiting to get my Dry Suit Cert Number so I can submit the paperwork for my PADI MSD Cert, which we'll date for Oct 12, 2009 (exactly 1 year after my OW Cert).

I'm now beginning my Dive Master, oh what fun!

Don't forget to stop on oggle the fishes (since you can't smell the flowers), never lose the fun of diving...

Happy Bubbles...

How many dives under OW would everyone suggest before moving to AOW?

I suggest you do as many as you can till you really get comfortable underwater. You can really do it whenever you want but someone with AOW and 50 dives behind them is not the same as someone with AOW and 5 dives behind them, you see? AOW really gets you to become more comfortable in the water because you have more training under your belt, so its definitely up to you I think.
