Never ever listen to people, that want you to splash petrol and blow crud through your important pieces
This is best practice. Most mechanics do so in any kind of engines. You use gasoline to wash out residues, then you blow out gasoline. Of course you wash out seriously, all residues are gone. Then you blow out gasoline. Air blows out all of the gasoline, no gasoline residues at all. As all residues are gone you are not able to blow any residues into any important pieces.

Happy does it in any other way, that's perfectly OK.
