I was there 10/98 and there was a dive shop. We swam out with snorkels about 100ft and then dropped down with our tanks on. It was a shallow dive ( Can't put my finger on my old log book at the moment) But, as I said we saw a ton of rays.

I did purchase the excursion from the ship, so they may not be doing it anymore if you don't see it on the list.
Be sure to at least snorkel, if not dive, as it was great vis.
 
PS. I don't recall anything about a shipwreck. I did however do a wreck dive in Grand Bahama. Could that be what you're thinking of?
