Just picked up an old MK 2 because the price was right. It had some light corrosion so took it apart ran through the ultrasonic and changes both internal o rings (2) didn’t even flip the seat, perfect IP, locks up solid, amazingly simple, just like a cockroach these things can probably survive a nuclear attack and just keep working.

Somebody should have kept that regulator.
What about the r190?
Cleaned it up, purge button needs to be replaced so it will sit until I get the part.

I bought a MK2/R190 in 2000 at my LDS for a whopping full retail price of $225.00
I got it to use on a deco bottle.
I still have it and regularly use it. The R190 ended up as my necklaced back up on my MK 20, and a R108 now lives on the MK2. It’s my solo diving reg.
I’ll see if my LDS has a purge button kicking around, I’ll let you know.

@lexvil - define "old"...

This one is likely a first generation, and continues to work without issue.

The only thing I have done to it is to swap in a heavy yoke for modern tank pressures.

I’ve put a DIN on it and put the yoke on the MK 16

they do seem to last forever, I had one of the original, now Dustin (Kupu) has it, which used the sherwood DIN with the nut on external threads rather than the screw in like ours.

shockingly simple is what I think every time I open one up.

The one in my picture has the nut (threaded stem is part of the body) as the retainer for the yoke.... Like I said, it is believed to be the first generation MK2.

My other newer ones are like yours...

They end up as long or longer than the yoke version in DIN, that’s why I got rid of it, yours is close to 60 years old I think.

OT: Just out of curiosity, shouldn't all regs be able to last forever assuming proper maintenance and service kit availability? Are there examples of regs that haven't stood the test of time?
