I was hoping for more CLX450 owners to reply. But I'm getting the 450 for sure. The only thing is that with the rockboots I won't be able to use my SP Jet Fins. If I wanted to that would mean that I would have to get the turbo soles setup. Not too keen on that.

I spoke with the DUI rep and he tells me that you will still be able to do all the fancy kicks with rockboots too.

I do plan on using my suit for beach dives as well, so rock boots are a must, since I do rock entries a lot.

Hehe...I have a 450. You are right, with rockboots you can't wear your jetfins, but the good news is that turtle fins are the same thing with a large enough foot pocket for rockboots. Sure it is another set of fins and another pair of spring straps, but the folks at Covci have made it a little less painful on the wallet.

I love mine. I am planning on switching to Rock Boots this summer. I have the turbo soles and I still couldn't use my Jets. I bought some Turtle fins a couple of weeks ago. They fit well, I just wish they where as rigid as the Jets are. I feel like i work harder to get around. But as far as the suit goes! I love it!

Make sure to ask for a cave cut.

I’m impatiently waiting for my CLX450 that I ordered just after Christmas. I ordered turtle fins from LeisurePro.

I guess, that is something that I have to ask my LDS, because I won't be doing any caves at all. I will be doing semi deep dives, wreck dives (not any serious deep wreck penetration), boat dives, and a lot of beach dives. That's about it.

What would be the benefit of having a tighter fit anyway? To fit into those tight cave spaces? If so, that part of the suit modification is definitely not needed for me.

Hey J
when you say rock entry does that mean you are listening to the underwater headphones again ? I ususally listen to classical when I wear my drysuit Hal

I dive a 450 with the "cave cut" and am very happy with it. It is by no means "tight" and you have plenty of room in the suit. I'm not sure how much air volume the cave cut reduces in the suit, but I would think that a closer fit would reduce the amount of air shifting around in the suit.

The suit is very durable and well made. It looks great as well. I am using the turbo soles, which have been fine for boat diving and walking around, and provide the side benefit of less gear to keep track of. I don't think I'd go climbing over rocks in them, however.

A great accessory that I would suggest are a pair of Halcyon Gator Wraps. They greatly reduce the volume of air travelling to your feet.

You're going to love your CLX450 - it's an expensive suit, but worth every penny.

The idea of DUIs cave cut is to remove as much excess material as they can without restricting movement. It cuts down on drag and you dont have flaps of excess material hanging all over the place.
