Have given thought to encountering a white while on deco, especially during extended decos in areas known to be frequented by them. So far the only time one was sighted in my vicinity, the 14 footer just swam past us (I was buddied up with Wyland to film giant sea bass) and didn't pat much attention to us. I stayed in the water another 20 minutes, but went shallow and ended up with no deco at the end of the dive.
From what I've heard the ones out there and a few other places in the world are more unpredictable and attack prone than here where the waters are fairly clear and the sea lions are fat.
