I was not able to make it to Catalina for the clean but i did pick up some trash on my marine room dive.

Found:

Small oval sticker
1' lenght of 1/2" PVC pipe
1 beer can
1 receipt to faded to read
a few small bits of plstic and paper

had a great dive with a long swim from the marine room to the cabazon cruiser at 135', very low tide. 2 foot surf, 20+ vis 52 F @ 90'.

Laguna Sunday, Cressant bay 6am. Plankton bloom at laguna from what i hear.

Andy

Small yeagermister bottle today aswell.

Pretty good! Got a lot of junk myself, including two car carpet rugs, one mug, 3 bottles and more stuff that I don't remember. That was a good buoyancy drill!

Considering the number of divers, the clean up was a big success in Catalina. And a great day, too. 2 tanks at the Point, in the afternoon and an amazing dive at Ship Rock, today.

In all, a very good WE

as of Friday night, there were 391 divers registered, and I know there were a number of registrations that morning as well. Some people with colds did sit it out, but overall, Avalon Harbor has a lot less junk in it this morning than it did Friday. I will look through the photos and see if I have anything good to post.

Interesting finds at Green Pier included a 6' rubber snake, the lower half of a pair of dentures, and a buddy team from the Disney Divers found a Mickey Mouse watch. There were a surprising number of interesting coins as well...

kelpmermaid once bubbled...
... and a buddy team from the Disney Divers found a Mickey Mouse watch.

And that would be just a coincidence?

No, nothing suspicious - just wierd. It seemed to have been down there for a while, judging by the corrosion. No band, just the watch part.

Divers entering the water at Casino Landing.
