Whats Up everyone !!!

I looking for dive buddies in the Seattle area "Have Tank Will Travel". I actually lived out there in Da 80's but haven't been back since. I've also notice folks looking for buddies in the Redondo area which Im familar with as well. I plan on going back to college & looking to dive every weekend if possible. I notice that Des Moines has a nice dive shop as well as group outings every thursday. All my dives so far have been in Lake Michigan (Alota Wrecks) & Local Quarry's. I plan on driving out there on the third week on November & plan on stopping off at Bontier Mines in Missouri for a little cave diving. Im at Rescue Swimmer Cert with Dry Suit & Nitrox extra's.

Im looking forward to meeting new & exciting scuba freaks out there so looking forward to your replies.

Have a great one !!!

Gerry

Hey Bob, Im making a dry suit purchase any recommendations on dive shop to pick up a TSL 350 or CLX 450 DUI Suit. Im looking for the best deals & I believe the LDS here is fairly expensive compared to Seattle.

My Choices are:

Whites Polar Flex which it going to run about 1800.00 for a package deal
DUI TSL 350 is around 2200.00
DUI CLX 450 is around 2400.00

I'd rather go with the TSL 350 but whites has a great deal but if ya compare warrantees, DUI is about 5 years more then whites. I've been calling local shops & some are even saying they never heard of whites before, thats funny because the factory is just north of you guys. Here the Midwest they are pretty popular along with DUI of course. Anyways Im looking forward to Da move & will be up there shortly.

Hi,
I also live very close to Redondo...Let us know when you get here and we'll go diving. This is the place to be if ya want to find some dive-aholics...
As for a suit...well, I just can't say enough about my Dui CF 200...It is a very well made suit and indestructable (don't ask)...

You guys know if that complex is still there or not Redondo Beach Club? I actually lived there when they first built it in 87". Next to Pac Hwy. Its been a long while ......went to school at Federalway High & Highline Community College. I left alot a good friends there & may get lucky in running into some of them again, hopefully diving buddies too.

Not sure about the Redondo Beach Club still existing. But I agree with Bob and Kirsten if your looking for divers you are headed to the right location.
I have been known to sneak down to Redondo and dive especially if I know Bob or Kirsten are going to be there. Let us know when you get here.
A couple of us are planning on diving over the Thanksgiving weekend. Let us know if you want to join us.

White and DUI are both excellent suits. I have owned both. Depending on what you are looking for in a suit, will depend on which one will best work for you.

Whites has a new suit that is crushed neoprene on the bottom and fabric on the top, but the neoprene comes up the back for more warmth in the small of oyur back.

DUI has the 50/50 that is the same idea.

I personally prefer the complete crushed neoprene suits they are warmer all the way around for me.

price? I have always thought that Whites was a little better for the money. just my personal opinion. Im in oregon but come to seattle everry other weekend to dive.

Some local dive shops who are DUI dealers ...

Fifth Dimension (where I teach) - http://www.fifthd.com/
TLSea (very close to Federal Way) - http://www.tlsea.com/
Bubbles Below (way up north) - http://www.bubblesbelow.com/
Underwater Sports (lots of locations) - http://www.underwatersports.com/

I'd say call around and tell 'em what you're looking for ... comparison shopping is always a good option ...

Gosh.. scary.. I may be coming back...

Boeing is offering me HUGE money to come back and lead a program.... But as I was just in PDX the last ten days burying my mother, I didn't see many reasons to leave Florida at this time.. The weather sucked

( I told the B to add another 50k and I'd think about it)
