Chicago Scuba August Meetup

Those dog days of August are almost upon us. Naturally, the August Meetup will be all about winter! The focus of this, the mammoth meeting, will be:

1) Membership: How do we grow it meaningfully? How do we attract serious divers, including women divers?

2) Winter event planning: Some possibilities: Warm water trip, a trip to the Shedd during coral spawning. That makes the assumption, however, that the coral in the Shedd spawn. Other events might include IMAX, movies, the Shedd sans spawning, Bonne Terre Mines, Our World Underwater, Ghost Ships, etc. Events should keep the membership active and growing.

3) A bunch of other stuff we think up at or before the August Meetup.

If you are looking for winter diving activities, there is always ice diving and Jerry runs charters out of Milwaukee all year round.

I'll not be there as I will be diving in Florida with my daughter. Going to try two different boats this trip. She only knows about one.

However, I am trying to convince a coworker to attend.
