Meetup Description
Isle Royale, the largest island on Lake Superior and the second largest in the Great Lakes, is a pristine national park famous for its population of moose and timber wolves. It is an isolated, primitive wilderness accessible only by boat or seaplane. It is also a premier dive site. One of the more popular ways to dive this site is through the live aboard/camping charters that are available. Lake Superior diving is noted for it excellent visibility and virtual absence of zebra mussels.
Our speaker this month is CSM member Joe Head who will give a presentation on eight of the shipwrecks that can be found there including general information on the park. The shipwrecks he will be discussing are the:
•America
•Chisholm/Cumberland
•Cox
•Emperor
•Chester A. Congdon
•Monarch
•Tug in 5 Finger Bay
If you want to find out more about a unique dive experience, this presentation should not be missed.
We will be meeting in the basement at Lalo's. As usual, we will have a Meet and Greet at 7:00, where we will have an opportunity to order food and drink. Our business meeting will be at 7:30 and our presentation will start at 8:00.
Hope to see everyone there!
