Yes, and you have love that shorty drysuit. :D

I have never used one of those, but what I have read is that you added air by exhaling into your mask. The face seal went over the mask, making the mask part of the air volume.
I have actually tried it with a more modern hood and the principle works. I have also tried a Russian one-piece vintage drysuit with attache hood and mask and that was the way to compensate for pressure increase.
 
This ad from 1968 is one of my fav logos. This Dick Long's dive shop in La Mesa, California before moving to San Diego. He just started making hot water suits for the military and commercial divers.

He had these made in 3-color vinyl and glued the to the suits. Dick changed the company name to Diving Unlimited International, or DUI in the 1970s.
