Hey, my wife and I are looking for the cheapest and best hotel and dive package in Cozumel. After staying at the Cozumeleno and diving with Scuba Du (which was a solid dive op), we decided that we'd rather stay and dive in the same place. On our second trip we stayed and dove with Scuba Club Cozumel, which was fantastic. Hotel and Dive Op were amazing, and we loved the unlimited shore diving (it indulges our macro fascination). The price for 2 weeks and 10 days of diving was a bit steep though ($2400 total for two people), so we're wondering if there's anywhere similar for a slightly cheaper price. We're basically looking for a hotel and dive op combo that includes unlimited shore diving.

Diving with ScubaMau and staying at Hotel Villa Blanca or Casa Mexicana is slightly cheaper. hotelpackages

Is Blue Angel more expensive? I think so..... From all I have read the Hotel Cozumel Dive Paradise combo is pretty cheap. Its been a few years since I did that combo but I think it is still available.

Flying from Chicago and looking to stay in Cozumel for 14 days sometime between 1/2/10 and 1/18/10. Blue Angel appears to be more expensive...I'll look into Hotel Cozumel. Maybe SCC is the only way to go.

The shore diving at SCC can't be matched anywhere on Cozumel. If that is important, then go back there.

If you want cheaper, non-AI, then look at Hotel Barracuda. Much lower end hotel and dive op on site is Dive Paradise which is not the same as SCC dive op or boats. you get what you pay for!

Plane tickets for those dates are so cheap, with Tuesday travel the lowest at $314 RT - I don't think you can find dive & hotel combination like you requested for less that Scuba Mau & Villablanca. The link given above hotelpackages quotes some great prices (get the Superior room!), but email them - see if they have any better ideas.

I used an Orbitz air & hotel package to stay there and dive with them, and you could - no one has cheaper boat dives with unlimited shore diving; I think you'd probly be cheaper with air separately, then hotel & dive package.

Great Operator, certainly there to please the customer, right next door to VB, 5 cafes within a block.

For a two week trip tho, I'd book air into Coz, back from Cancun - plan on taking the ferry after 8 or 10 days on the island, renting a car, spend some time around Tulum diving cenotes, maybe touring some ruins. http://www.easywayrentacar.com/ has cheap car rentals, no drop charges. http://www.cancunmap.com/ is a good source for maps with all gas stations, etc altho I do not agree with some of their suggestions.

Oops, missed the part about unlimited shore diving. If the OP meant unlimited free shore diving, then HC and DP is not a choice. However, there is this little island called Bonaire......

Give Opal an email at Scubamaucozumel.com and she can get you great rates at Villa Blanca hotel combined with her dive shop which is right beside the hotel. I am sure you will enjoy their hospitality. Need to know that the Villa is not AI. There are places close to eat, but most trip to town for a night out. Cab is five bucks. Fun place to hang. kev:D
