Anyone know of a cheap bottom timer. My computer has a bottom timer feature but it's not convenient.

There is a thread going here about dive watches but what I would like is a cheap automatic bottom timer.

Any recommendations?

It never ceases to amaze me that people want to get into an environment that will kill them, then predicate their equipment decisions on what is "cheap".

FWIW, the Uwatec bottom timer is the cheapest one I am aware of. Maybe Wal-Mart has a store brand though...

I think what Gray meant to ask was, "Is there an efficient *minimalist* bottom timer without the unnecessary and distracting computational misinformation display."

You know... something cheap.

What I meant to say is there something that is very expensive (much more expensive than a dive computer) that I can spend my money on that will do no more than something cheap and will keep all sanctimonious divers happy.

You mean One one thousand, two one thousand, three one....

... a Princeton Tec bottom timer... you should be able to find one for <$50...

or I could sell you mine for $3000.

I would go with the antique Grandfather Clock with chimes. Real bummer to bungee to your wrist, but exceedingly functional.

And you shouldn't call Pug sanctimonious :mean:

Fossil carries a couple nice dive watches - rotating bezel - that have stood up to good amount of my abuse. Shark watches should be available at your LDS. You can pick up either of these for $50 or less. If this doesn't fit the bill for you, I fall back to MechDivers' position - try WalMart.

Not trying to be a smartass, but how do you define cheap?

There are 3 things people want: Good, Fast, Cheap(inexpensive). Pick any 2 you want, but you can't have all 3.
