ECO DIVE AT Stillhouse Lake Marina

I figure I will just put out the important information:
~19 Sept 2004
~Go under at 1300hrs for one hour
~Entry fee $20, includes tee shirt
~You get tickets for cans for the auction
~They auction off tons of great stuff (last year I got a new Mares Vector, dive knife and a ~few other things with my tickets)
~Free food

You can say what you want to about paying to clean up some one elses marina or lake but it is a fun time and you will more than likely go away with more than $20 in prizes!

It is going to be held at the Stillhouse Lake Marina
Call for info: (254)933-8355 681-8247
or ask me on this thread

It is in Belton Texas:

If you are coming from Austin TX on 35 north take 190 west when you get near Belton(to Fort HOOD). When on 190 for a few miles look for Simmons road and take it all theh way to the state park(tell them you are going to the marina and it will be free) stay on the same road and it leads right to the marina.

If you look up:
Simmons Road Belton, Texas 76513
(where the road touches the water is it)

I have done numerous dives in Stillhouse. I lived in Killeen in '97-'98.. Every Thursday, myself and two or more divers would see what we could find.

When I was there we pulled out just about anything you can think of.

More fishing poles than I count.
20 or more 55-gallon drums, rolls of carpet. toilets, sinks, tires ( more than you shake a stick at). school desks. Old scales. a sunk catamaran.. Cigarette machine... Even a old industrial reefer... Lots of car keys. To Mike and Chris, thanks for turning me on to that. always had a blast doing recoveries.
Cheers,
Rob

Did any of you Texas Swampers go to this event? There was over a hundered divers entered!

The prizes totaled over $4000.00! I think just about every body walked away with something never mind having a great time!
