We are thinking of taking a trip to Devil's Den and Blue Grotto for Memorial day weekend -- any thoughts if these will even be enjoyable being dived on holiday weekend? Should we skip it and go diving somewhere else?

Devil's den can have a pretty long line waiting to get in, so if it's packed, you might need to time your entry. If you're in South FL, are you just sick of going Blue Heron?

We just thought it would be cool to dive caverns and try that flavor out.

Hey dp: I've only been to each sites for a couple of dives at each one. My bet is that these will be a bit busy on a holiday weekend. I found that Devil's Den can loose some visitibility with a lot of divers but it is still decent. Blue Grotto lost visibility much quicker with a lot of divers. Both sites are used for training. Again, I'm guessing, but if you are the first in the gate, you might have pretty good dives before all the other divers arrive. Also, you're not that far from the Rainbow River which is a fun ultra shallow drift dive if you get sick of the caverns

This is great. Appreciate the color... Maybe we will hit the grotto first then the den.
