Three professors (a physicist, a chemist, and a statistician) are called in to see their dean. Just as they arrive the dean is called out of his office, leaving the three professors there. The professors see with alarm that there is a fire in the wastebasket.

The physicist says, "I know what to do! We must cool down the materials until their temperature is lower than the ignition temperature and then the fire will go out."

The chemist says, "No! No! I know what to do! We must cut off the supply of oxygen so that the fire will go out due to lack of one of the reactants."

While the physicist and chemist debate what course to take, they both are alarmed to see the statistician running around the room starting other fires. They both scream, "What are you doing?"

To which the statistician replies, "Trying to get an adequate sample size."

Couple of questions about the product, especially since ordering off Amazon came up.

1.) Is it prone to trigger a positive result for marijuana on a urine drug screen? These are commonly done at emergency room presentations or Psychiatric hospital admissions, on the job for new hires and/or randomly thereafter etc...

2.) What level of confidence does a given source merit for consistency and purity of the product? Illicit marijuana use is sometimes 'laced' with something else, which can land someone thinking they're 'just doing pot' in an E.R. with a psychotic break testing positive for another drug (e.g.: amphetamine). Are you getting a consistent product from a reliable producer, such as one of the more reputable 'medical marijuana' producers might be viewed as?

I'm thinking this thread may be viewed by others over time, so I'm asking hoping whatever decisions they make will be informed ones.

Richard.
1) Drug screenings are looking for THC. CBD will not test positive for THC. Unless the CBD oil is sourced from a marijuana dispensary, it’s likely it was derived from hemp. Even CBD from marijuana will be separated from the THC, twice the $$ from one product!

2)Purity is just like any other legitimate business, some will try to bend you over and some are honest. CBD oil is not an illicit market, hemp is very much legal in most of the world and even legal to import to the United States(legal to grow in some states but not federally).

The FDA would have my gutz for “illegal human experiments” ...//...
Yeah, there is that.

Years ago (when I worked for a living) I contacted a study director and said that I just don't "get" statistics. I can do well on the tests, but what is it really all about?

She said that my mind was locked in the hard sciences. Statistics is just a way to force an end to conflict between researchers. Statistics never proved anything. It is an agreement. If you can show significance to a previously agreed upon level, then your claims have a measure of weight.

She said to truly understand statistics take a course taught by the social sciences. I did. Hahnemann Hospital. Shocking, you can't withhold therapy! It is unethical.

Me: What?!! No, you withhold therapy and show a return to previous behavior.

Nope. Can't do that. There is a whole branch of statistics that attends to this restriction. Most incredibly fascinating...

FDA does withhold therapy of a cancer drug that only worked in Nine % of patients, even though for that small percent, it was life saving. So we lost a good friend when FDA removes approval, Insurance would not cover it and manufacturer could not afford to produce it for the few that found it effective.

True, I have wicked arthritis in hip and hands, but sore muscles because I exercise daily, light weight lifting. I will go down fighting old age with all the stretches, anti inflammatories, exercise and, yes, Scuba to the end, or my kids put me in a locked ward.
Sorry to hear this. However, note, that ibuprofen is not that bad for everyone. My late mom also had arthritis and consumed barrels of ibuprofen and other meds. Yet her liver and kidneys worked fine till her last day. She died of stroke one month short of her 84th birthday. I take 4x2 ibuprofens per day for sore joints sometimes and saw no side effects so far.

True, however from some brief searching it seems that CBD and/or THC can be used to treat some types of chronic pain, and also short term issues like muscle cramps.

I've been having regular issues with cramps in my calves and thighs while diving. It's something I'm concerned about. I'm reading FL law about CBD/THC. I definitely don't want to dive high, but relieving the cramps without effecting my awareness would be great.
I'm not against you (or anyone) using cannabis; just suggesting alternatives to stay out of trouble. Cramps are a different matter than pain. I do not suffer from cramps myself but taking potassium supplements and drinking tonic (quinine!) helps my wife.

I use a “Less sodium salt” that is 50% potassium, but I haven’t had a cramp in 20 years, (while preggies). Inflammation is swelling around joint that leads to pain, so if we can reduce swelling with CBD extract, we wouldn’t be in pain to begin with.
But my plan is to alternate all four anti-inflammatory, so no one chemical can take a toll on me.
But i also want to return to work, so I will call the drug testing center and ask.

So three questions:
1) Have others tried CBD oil, gummy candies, lollipops, whatever type, to alleviate muscle soreness after lugging heavy diving gear for the promised anti inflammatory relief for muscles and joints?
2) does this supplement have any side effects of any kind on diving while below water?
3) Are CBD supplements ok to take traveling or am I going to end up locked up abroad, for my CBD sour watermelon gummies?
I recently met a guy during our dive trip to little Cayman who traveled from the states with candies and a thc spray...he seemed to have no difficulties traveling with such. Would I? Probably not as I have too much to lose if things went south....I'm a firm believer that your better off scoring where your going rather than mule it yourself!

Google Titanium Tape...I use it and it works wonders on my joints...yes, I workout daily...

I was in the Philippines in March. One member of our group actually brought MJ vapes with him. We only found out on the last day.

On the way home, I checked in two hours ahead of him at the airport. Wanted nothing to do with that kind of stupidity
