Some Northern Sites, this is the side that is predominately calmer than the south side (depending on the time of year)

Greenhouse Reef, and, Radar Reef are a couple of reefs you can shore dive. They are spur and groove systems in depths ranging from 10 to over 50 feet. At the access site there is mostly ironshore, not much of a beach, if there is beach much of it is ground up shells, so watch your self. You need a car to get to these sites, especially if you are hauling equipment.
A little to the west of these sites, located off the old Buccaneer's Inn, there is a decent entry point and the famous M/V Capt. Keith Tibbetts, a Russian destroyer sunk in 50 feet of water. This site is accessible from shore but it is a swim. You'll be able to see the superstructure and maybe some schooling fish and deeper coral formations at the bow of the boat, there was a nice eel garden off the north east corner of the wreck.
I have dove radar reef at night and saw some huge lobster, also the eels are out hunting. We watched a spectacular skin light show by an octopus, we had four divers who kept the octopus on a coral head and he just kept changing colors for over five minutes before sliding away. Be careful to look for scorpion fish near shore in the shallows.
You can easily snorkel from the north side boat ramp and check out the coral heads, last time we found a chain moray, several immature french angels and an octopus and a couple of scorpion fish jsut to the north of the ramp.
Boat ramp entry:

Snorkeling, Rum Point.

The place to snorkel at Rum Point is the barrier reef seen in the distance of this picture. Some of the best snorkeling in the Caribbean.

............Wife & I(1st trip we've made 'solo' in about 7 years without our dive group--gunna be nervous???--lol) are heading to Brac the 18th of Oct, last went Oct '11..Staying & boat diving with CBBR.....Probably?? won't do any shore diving but that could change....Will post to you a trip report....

Actually looking forward to this 'solo' trip---had made about 50, just she & I, before hooking up with this group so it should be fun---won't have to get involved in 'daily UW pic contest'---lol..., most in the group shoot UW so we get a little competitive from time to time..---it'll be me against myself..:).........Where are you staying on Brac???........EDIT...just thought of something----hmm------T minus 27days & counting, tick clock tick.....!!
