Yes, but you'll probably need to go in the off season. August is hot and sticky there, but the lodging prices provide cooling relief.

Contemplate looking beyond Grand Cayman. Cayman Brac has a decent number of homes available for rent; my photo is at a 2BR house we've stayed at. Its MSRP is {EDIT: in Spring 2023 was} officially $233/night, but as a repeat customer, they trusted us to do a cash deal so it worked out to be <$200/night.

This place is technically not waterfront, as there's a lightly travelled (~3 cars/hr) "front road" between the house and the water you need to cross.
