I am dying to take a Cavern course as well as the intro to cave diving and eventually the full cave. I'm also interested in the TDI Decompression procedures. Unfortunately I don't have a job right now so I have spare time but no money to pay for the course.

I was thinking I may be able to get a hold of the manuals so I could at least do the reading/education part and be all the more prepared when I can pay for the class.

If you have the manuals you could lend me or sell for cheap, I'd really appreciate it :)

thanks!

If you don't find any loaners or used manuals, you can buy them from Cave Adventurers

I'd hold off on buying the TDI Deco Proc manual--an update is supposed to be coming soon. In any event, the agency you end up doing the course with might not match the manuals you purchased beforehand. If you can borrow a copy of Mark Powell's "Deco for Divers", it would be a better choice for some background reading.

Thanks for the tip on the deco manual. There is a pretty good chance the cavern / cave class I will take will be tdi that is why I thought those would be good manuals to study. But, honestly, just reading any of them will be good info and way better than no prep.

The TDI cavern/cave manuals are a joke, I'd look for an NSS CDS or NACD manual instead. I'd also recommend Jill's book(s)

The TDI cavern/cave manuals are a joke. . .

Really? What is it about it that is a joke?

Are you speaking of the TDI Diving in Overhead Environments: Your Complete Guide to Cavern and Cave Diving manual?

I think it is a well written manual and a good resource.

The cavern and cave diving manual, unless they've done a substantial amount of updating since the issue I have... its basically just an outline.

TDI released a new manual in 2009.
