TDI training near Playa

Hi all!

I have the pleasure of spending a couple of weeks over Xmas & NY near Playa and want to use the time to do either my TDI ANDP or TDI Cavern course. Was hoping to do this with Nat and her team at UnderTheJungle but they're closed for the Xmas period (very deserved break). Therefore wanted to see if anyone has first hand experience of really good cavern / TDI instructors down there? I'll be doing the course sidemount so ideally would want a really capable SM instructor rather than someone who is mostly BM.

Why not contract Protec? The card you get might say IANTD, but so what?

If you are from the UK, you could do ANDP here. Some cool wrecks to dive and good instructors. No real benefit to burn time in Mexico on ANDP if that’s your holiday.

I would pick an instructor who regularly dives the way you want to dive (ocean or cave, Billy-no-mates solo or team,…) Good instructors are not “sidemount” or “backmount”, they dive whatever is appropriate for the specific dive.

Third Dimension and ProTec in Tulum or Playa might help you but also loads of other good places to train.
