OK, the trip to Casino Pt. is definitely happening on Saturday the 11th. Missed last weekend due to a 10K run...

How's the vis lately? Appreciate any news from the island.

Haven't been in since Sunday due to a cold and video to be edited. Our dive boats aren't going out as much during the week since it's our off-season. If I hear anything, I'll let everyone know. Hope to be at the Park Sat. for a few dives.

drbill once bubbled...
10/4/03- Water warmer (59 at 60' depth) but vis mediocre 15-25 ft at the Point on my dives. Didn't look like much deeper either. I keep hoping for another day like last Monday- 51 degrees and 70-80 ft vis.

Will try again tomorrow.

Still diving in a shorty?

Still diving in a shorty?

He was on THAT day! I couldn't believe it, as I was shiverin' in my 5mm hooded vest topped by a 7mm suit!

sapphire :D

You're right Sapphire, but that was my custom 7mm shortie rather than the normal 3mm I should be in this time of year. Didn't feel the cold at all... was in awe at the great vis we had on our first dive!

Report today from three divers I had dinner with tonight was excellent vis at depths below 60-70 ft. My buddy Andrea called from the mainland to say she wanted to dive tomorrow so I'll go and check out the conditions with her.

Iroc, to my knowledge, there are two --- Catalina Divers Supply on the pier and out at Casino Point, and Scuba Luv in town. You might want to look around www.ladiver.com for links.

I'll be there saturday...

last w/e frontside viz wasn't that good off the Sundiver, but my wife is having a garage sale tomorrow with her sister,...... uhhh, no thanks ;)

Sundiver has 30 divers on it, so the Express it is.

I'll be the guy with the Halcyon gear and the camera in the red fisher price price ousing and two strobes.....

Did three dives today to a maximim depth of 70 ft. Visibility was pretty good- damned good considering the poor visibility the past few months. I'd guess it was 40, possibly 50 ft on the first dive. Closed in somewhat on the last two, but it was also getting darker. Hopefully this weekend will be one of the best in quite a while!!!

If only L&M had gotten my camera housing back to me... SIX weeks and still counting.
