Never dived off the California coast and we're contemplating a trip to Catalina in September. Is this too late in the year? Temp? Clarity?

September is often a very good time of the year to dive here. Water has warmed up (say to 70-73 F), plankton blooms should be history so vis should be fine. Of course last summer and early fall were a disaster from May to November, but we don't expect a repeat of that.

Diving here is year round with fall and winter being considered about the best! SCUBALuv is a good outfit.
