I'll be there on Mar 22 via a cruise ship. Where do they anchor/tender, and can I walk to Casino point from the drop-off point with my gear? Or do I rent a golf cart or something? I'm assuming the water is about the same temp as Monterey (7mm suit and hooded vest?). Anything else I should know?

Oh, and the cruise ship is only there from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, what kind of diving can I get in and not miss the ship? :eyebrow: What other places are must see?

Depending on which cruise ship you use, they will either drop you off at the Cabrillo Mole boat terminal or the green Pleasure Pier in Avalon Bay. If the first, it is across the harbor from the dive park but that's not a great distance.

Get to the green pier and you have two choices... CDS is located on the pier itself and SCUBA Luv is located just 1/2 block inland from it. You can rent gear from either shop. Both rent carts you can haul the gear in. It is an easy walk to the dive park with the gear.

Temps should be comparable to Monterey or higher. You could easily get in 2-3 shore dives in that time period depending on the surface interval you prefer.

Check the catalina.com or ecatalina.com web sites for info on other attractions and tours here.

Hope you enjoy it.
