Hi'll

Can anybody give a report on Catalina, Casino Pointe.
Have the boundary marker bouy's been fixed ?
What was the vis like last (Thanksgiving)weekend ?

I'll be heading there this Fri. to dive the Valiant for the first time!
Hopefully, tried last month but got denied from the Harbormaster
due to boat traffic.
So we decided to dive the Sue Jac. Missed that too!
Did see a ton of bouy chain,5 gal.bucket anchor a small fiberglass dinghy and the bathroom sink.
I think we were to deep? My dive buddy knows were it is hopefully we can find it this time!
We went down on the last bouy to 90' but didn't see it he thinks
it's closer to the breakwater in 60' of water?

TIA Jeff

Doc Bill I believe is the Resident Catalina expert, he lives/dives/brushes his teeth there. I know Casino point fairly well, but I'm not sure what you're asking. I didn't know there was anything wrong with the boundary markers, but then again, I don't pay attention to them. Vis is supposed to be SUPERB, which is giving me the itch to go again, real soon. I love that dive park.

Checking in from the mainland before heading to La Paz for a few weeks. Haven't dived the Park since last Friday (sniff).

As of Thanksgiving weekend three of the four buoys were fixed with the last one scheduled. Park pretty much back in shape. Vis was good, temp decreased a bit (to 59 at 80-90 ft).

Talked to a few divers who did the Valiant last week and they said conditions were fantastic.

Won't be back in the Park until late Dec as I'm being "forced" to work as a diver/UW videographer/biologist on a ship in the "Sea of Cortez."
