Kiet...

When are you going? My buddy and I are heading over early Sunday morning (even if it rains!).

I like to rent my tank and weights from Catalina Divers Supply...the same folks that offer fills at the Point. Their trailer opens at 8 AM.

There are lockers there, but i have used them only for overnight storage of inexpenive stuff.

headhunter:
Bill,

Was that "in the snow, uphill, both ways"?

Christian

I don't know about that, but when Jennifer & I dived with him, he volunteered to take our used tanks back to the dive shop while we sat around relaxing on the SI.

Wow... very nice gesture, Dr. Bill.

I did that, Walter? I must have been narc'ed! That was before I bought the "Dr. Bill Mobile" golf cart.

Bill, would you hazard a guess for dive conditions this Saturday?

Christian

Now, Christian, it is quite possible these days to walk to and from school uphill both ways in the snow! Let's take Big Bear as an example. You stay with your Mom who lives a few hundred feet in elevation below the school so you walk uphill to get to class. That night is your night for your father to have custody and he lives even farther up the mountain, so you walk uphill to get "home" as well.

Hey, Kiet... don't worry about creating a new thread. My reply to look at the sticky was intended to help you out, not to "criticize." Being a resident here, rather than a visitor, I find Jim's sticky thread to be olf much greater help than my advice because there are a lot of things I probably wouldn't think of. After all, I just have to roll out of bed, put my gear in the "Dr. Bill Mobile" and drive down to the dive park or the dive boat. Such a stressful existence!

drbill:
Ah, you youngsters! I've walked from Lover's Cove (past the boat terminal) all the way to the dive park in full gear (tank, pony, weight belt, etc) carrying my underwater video equipment. OK, so it did hurt a little the next day...

Hey, wait a minute...

You told me you did a SURFACE SWIM from Lover's Cove to the dive park, against the current the whole way, in a 3mm shorty, with no fins, carrying your buddy's weight-belt and tanks.

Or was it underwater on a single breath?

Didn't realize you went to M.C. Escher High!

What are the water temps at Casino Point lately? I'm headed down for some diving at the end of the month and am trying to figure out what to bring. Looking forward to some warm water diving in December!

Hey, that was a different time... and I did all of the above... blindfolded with no compass!
