Do that-- I'd love to meet you!
Ditto! I'll make every effort to be there. You won't make fun of my flip fins will you? Ahh, it's alright if you do, I can handle it! ;)

I'm off to dive up in Monterey this weekend!

Dr Bill or anyone who went today,
How were conditions today?....Im going to go tomorrow and wait for standby on the Express..and dont want to waste a trip or the real early morning.

And Dr Bill dont turn into a Rip Van Winkle and we hope to see you again tomorrow

I was in the park for two dives today- the viz dropped by 15-20 ft between dive 1 and two (10am and 12pm) to maybe 25-30 ft and the surge picked up. The water is still blue but there was lots of particulate in the water, I think from the swells coming in. That said I doubt there were 20 divers in the park today and the water was warm....66 at 60ft. I'd go.

Yawn... I'm awake. No Rip van Winkle here.

Did four dives yesterday. Viz seemed to decline on each of them and surge pick up. You could stioll make tyhings out at 40-50 ft in some spots, but it was very cloudy. Had a giant sea bass swim by at 30 ft on one dive and I could just barely see it. Of course it is still better than the mainland... especially with the predicted swell there this weekend.

Nice to here you woke Dr Bill.....We didnt make the standby boat today so were going tomorrow. Conditions holding?....Surfs huge here in huntington and I was worried....

Strong surge and swells yesterday. Most shops cancelled Discover SCUBA and some guided dives. However, I heard vis was much better than expected out by the Suejac and outside the kelp forest. The ocean seemed much calmer by 9:00 pm last night. I'm staying high and dry this weekend.

Nice to see you again DR Bill. Conditions were much better at the Sue-Jac, although I could not see one end from the other. The deeper I went the surge was almost none existant. 35 ft and up it was pretty strong. Always a good time though, ands like always holiday weekend are the time to dive the park with little crowds for the summer.

One of the guys who does the So Coast Divers emails said that he read (did not cite the source) that viz was in excess of 100 ft yesterday (that would have been 9/12) Can anybody confirm?
Going Sat and cannot wait!!!

Posts I saw said more like 50 and that the 100ft viz from earlier in the week had dropped, but 50ft is still amazing at the island.
