I only dove 100ft once and all I remember was how dark it was. It had a 6500ft dropoff too, it was pretty cool.

We just got back from diving with BA and most of our dives were in the 70-80 ft depth range. However, the water in Coz is so clear, you won't feel like it's that deep at all. I have a picture I took of the dive boat from about 60 feet on a previous trip, and the water was so clear you can read the name of the boat. As long as you let the DM know you're skill & comfort levels, they'll keep a good eye on you to make sure you're okay ...
 
So I take it we are in good hands with Blue Angel? My wife swears she did enough research on this board before booking ;)

Yup!! They're a good bunch!! That's why so many of us go back again & again!! :D To me, the key is ask any & all questions you have, communicate with the DM, and you'll have a blast!!

You are in good hands. No-frills, fast boats, good captains, all the divemasters are good. When you you go to sign up for your dives talk to Victor, and tell him your experience and comfort level. He does his best to get people grouped together. My wife and I are new divers and old to boot, we were comfortable on our dives this year. Talk to the DM when you get on the boat also. He'll probably have you stick close the first day, and help you out. 1st dive of day was usually 70' to 90', second dives were 30' to 50'. If you're an air hog like me ask for 100 cuft tanks ($5.00 more). We dove 4 days. We had "Pumba" for DM 2 days, and he was great. Ask him about his 3 wives and 14 children. Buddy teams are sent up when one goes LOA, whatever your number is. We usually bailed when I hit 700 - 800 or so on most dives depending on the dive. Practice ditching your gear on the surface, it's common practice on Blue Angel boats. Hand up your weights, hand up the BC, either hang your fins on your arm, or get a hand on the ladder and hand them up. Have safety sausage and whistle or some signaling device. Take a good look around before you surface, lots of boats at some of the sites. Boat will be nearby, longest we waited was 3 mins or so. Have fun.
