I need to rent a small vehicle while in Curacao. I will be staying at Habitat Curacao.

Does anyone know the approximate "drive time" from the Airport to Habitat Curaco? Can someone recommend a car rental company at the Curacao Airport that is honest and dependable?

Thanks,

Sy

All the US chains are there. We didn't find anyone particularly cheaper so I think we rented from Avis. Curacao Car Rental webpage.

It's about 10 miles from the Airport to Habitat but takes longer than you'd think since the speed limit is 25MPH in towns and 35-50MPH outside of town. Roads are bad in some areas and it's hilly and twisty going towards Jan Kock.

Directions to Habitat: link

I will also be going to Habitat Curacao, but not until December. Sytech, when are you going?

Thanks a lot for the map.

Do you know if you can rent a car right at Habitat Curcacao itself? Anyone know what a cab to Willemsted would cost?

November 1-10. If it's half as good as the Divi Bonaire (especially the dive set up)I will be happy.

I don't, but understand is that it's very different and a lot more spread out than Bonaire. Once you get a mile or so west out of town you're in a rural area with an occasional small local town along the road. And Habitat's pretty isolated so it's probably not economical for a car rental agency to stage cars there.

I really recommend renting a car at the airport. You'll need it to go to the other shore dive sites and for food other than what's available at Habitat. As good as Habitat's reef is, there's better farther out on the West End.

I think you will definitely want to get one at the airport plus you can go by the Centrum supermarrket on the way to the resort.

Defin rent at airport. We used Budget last march. They were great to work with. After collecting your luggage, go out front door of airport, head to the right following the sidewalk. Tha car rental places are all in what used to be the old terminal.. I think you need to buy the big fold up map for $3. It was great. We were there for 14 days and it ran $300 +-.
