I finally found the perfect solution for me - a car with start-stop button and keyless access. The key is laminated in plastic and goes into the pocket of the undergarment of my dry suit.

The factory chipped keys all have air voids in them, (experience showed me this) but after market chipped keys I find locally are molded without an air void, so they go in with me zipped into a pocket. Obviously the chirpers are not going to handle this.
If you get a UK light and take out the batteries, and light head, you get a sturdy waterproof case. We have used them for cell phones, UHF radios, flare guns, etc on the boats.
same answer as I always say... I have a "non-chipped" key cut (it only opens doors, won't start vehicle). The electronic ones are in the vehicle somewhere, and the access key is on a lanyard inside my set suit....
