Back in the Bronze age, when the Internet was young and the cool kids used Usenet for discussions, typing in ALL CAPS MEANT THAT YOU WERE SHOUTING.

Some of us old fogeys still think that typing in ALL CAPS MEANS THAT YOU ARE SHOUTING. So, if y'all who think about typing your thread title in all caps COULD BE SO NICE AS TO RECONSIDER THAT AND REFRAIN FROM HITTING CAPS LOCK, WE'D BE REALLY, REALLY GRATEFUL. Because typing with caps lock on is really, really annoying to us.

And I'd advise you not to get me started on using Capitalization Of Every Word In A Sentence...
 
An example of when it’s not so important to follow rules of standard capitalization:

We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.
The OP is not American...
 
I can say for sure that in German there can be cases where upper and lower case can be a case of great concern :wink:

Who said it's a problem? It's one of the OP's many - many! - pet peeves, and for some reason they wanted to vent a little since there's been a couple ALL CAPS thread titles lately. And it was attempted to do so in a fairly non-confrontational manner.

Lighten up, Francis.
 
I am not anxious. It was just a neutral statement, sorry if it came across as anything else. I may simply have overlooked extensive use of caps lock here :wink:

So... I kinda got stuck on the electrons... @Storker, could you make it a student assignment to figure out the "electronload" on this thread? I assume that would be an assignment out of the ordinary... Don't know how, but fun fun fun.

Or at least have heard of e e cummings, which makes them at least above average and maybe top 25th percentile.

I am not so much a fan of anything I was forced to read in school.

He was a poet of some sort, wasn’t he, if I may assume gender?
