OK. Yeah, I certainly don't want to work through menus each time I turn the camera on underwater. Keeping it at automatic makes sense to me.

here you go-

A570 Underwater need to move the Alt button

re-map of the alt button to the 'disp' button. Works great for the Canon underwater housing i use.

i occasionally change a couple of the settings within chdk while underwater- mainly turning focus bracketing on/off. Not often, but its great to have the ability to change settings underwater

Thanks.

I'll check out how I like things with the default chdk. If I want to change it, you've made it easy for me!

Well, you won't be able to press the "Print" button because neither the Ikelite nor Canon housing has that button on the outside. :D
I was just messing with the Ikelite housing. The mode button on the back winds around and presses the "Print" button.

On my A570 IS using the Ikelite housing... All camera buttons are accessible.

Thanks for sharing that. Good info to know. I've only done about 20 dives with the Ikelite housing. It's much heavier (out of the water) than the Canon housing, so I tend to go with the Canon housing a majority of the time.

I still think it's best to set up CHDK to auto-run on start up. Personally, I don't want to mess with pressing the <ALT> button underwater a bunch. It takes away from time that I could be spending setting up the next shot.

Enjoy your camera! Post a few pics when you get the chance...

I fully agree, but at least I have access to change settings if I need/want to without having to hack the code

I'll be in the water Saturday and Sunday... Pictures to follow ;)

I got into the water with my new rig for the first time. I used Auto settings for all shots and no strobe. (I choose to learn the camera before loading the CHDK). I just wanted to see what the camera could do before messing with settings and the strobes...

Hmmm... I think I might just keep the rig and work with it...

Shot some test shots on the way out... This is the very first shot underwater with the new rig

It feels good to be back in the water with a rig in my hands! I was starting to get a twitch without a camera... twisting and turning to point things out to people... lol
