Hi, We are arriving in the evening at Cancun International Airport (6 p.m. on a flight from Europe) and then planning to go to Belize next day by bus.

- Do you have any accommodation recommendations near the bus station to get to Belize early the next day (budget or good value <100 USD)?

- What is the best way to travel by bus from Airport to Hotel and then next day to Belize?

We are little bit on a tight schedule because we want to see whale sharks around Placencia - therefore we need to get from Cancun within 1-2 days to Placencia on a small budet...

Thanks for your help! :)

I don't know about traveling to Belize by Bus. If there is one it would originate at the ADO station in Downtown Cancun. The buses are clean and comfortable.

The Kin Mayab is right across the street. It is clean and a good deal at $50 or $60 a night. It had reliable free in room wireless which was nice.

The Radison Hacienda is close by as well and good deals can be had on weekend stays.

The ADO bus from the airport will take you straight to the downtown bus station cheap. They leave about once per hour and you may need to take a free courtesy shuttle to another terminal to get to it. The people outside the terminal can direct you.

Second best choice is a "collectivo" which is about a 10 person van. It will run about $15/person and you will make stops in the hotel zone first. You can buy tickets from the desk just before you exit the terminal.

There are a lot of good restaurants in the area. Not a bad place to stop for the night.
