Here's a heads up for anyone thinking of picking up a CE backup light.

I emailed an order to the owner (Darren) a few days ago and got a reply today. He's now in China and won't be able to sell or ship anything for quite a while. No timetable was given for his return.

So does anyone know of any other sources for a similar Scout-like clone?

At that price, you could almost buy a genuine Scout. Keep an eye out on eBay as well for used Scouts.

If you don't need the delrin body, there are similar shaped dive lights around for a fraction of the cost.

I actually like the OxyCheq flashlight better than the scout... the lanyard hole is to the side instead of the center so you can the clip lies closer to the strap, and it has a double o-ring instead of the single on the Scout... of course I've got other bits of gear to buy before I plunk down that much dough for a backup light, so I'm using Super Saberlites with the nasty plastic clip removed.
