Using Sony Vegas I try saving an MPEG2, HDV 1080x60i version of the Raja show. Once it saves to my hard drive it shows as a M2T file. This cannot be uploaded to Vimeo. Tried saving with .mpg but did not work. Any ideas?

Hmmm... earlier I changed the M2T file extensions to MPG or MPEG and they played fine in a number of viewers. However, I've never tried Vimeo. I assume it requires a specific codec be used.

You could also PM RonScuba, he's got clips on Vimeo. And uses Vegas.

You need to convert or render your m2t file. Vimeo recommends H.264 which is also known as mp4 or AVC. In Vegas you can use either the Mainconcept or Sony AVC render option and follow the settings below.

Here is Vimeo's recommendations directly off their help page.

Can you recommend some encoding settings for HD?

Yes. Your quota for the week is 500MB, so itÃÔ a good idea to compress your video down from phenomenally high quality to just amazingly high quality. We recommend using the H.264 codec at size 1280Ž×720, bit rate 3000-5000 kbits/sec (optimized for ÅÅownload?, key frame every 30 frames (frame reordering on), using whatever frame rate you shot in. For sound, use AAC at 128kbps in stereo.

Hi,

indeed, vimeo uses .mp4, that´s s true.
But a very good and convenient way to convert m2t and other transport streams into 1440x1080 mpegs is this freeware tool:

mpeg streamclip 1.2

Helpful sometimes!
